About

Valerie Johnson is a fourth-year transfer student majoring in political science and minoring in public policy. The daughter of two public school teachers, Valerie grew up in California’s Inland Empire, where she attended Crafton Hills College and received Associates Degrees in Political Science and Social Sciences. Valerie has served as the President of the Crafton Hills College Student Senate and as the Transfer Student Affairs Officer for the University of California Student Association. As ASUC Transfer Representative, Valerie hopes to represent the interests of all transfer students on Berkeley’s campus by connecting them with resources and advocating for them within ASUC spaces and among administrative officials. After graduation she hopes to pursue organizing and policy reform work.
