SENATOR KATERINA YAMAMOTO
Senator, University and External Affair Committee
I am a third-year Bioengineering student at UC Berkeley, dedicated to improving our experiences by fighting for the rights and education that we ALL deserve. The primary community that I am representing is the engineering and STEM community, an academic field traditionally lacking in government and ASUC representation. I have two main goals within this sphere: 1) improving STEM mentorship for the purpose of diversity, inclusion, and retention, 2) increasing research opportunities to better prepare undergraduates for success in industry and graduate school. Outside of the STEM community, a platform of mine is to advocate for womxn’s health, with projects targeting destigmatization, sex positivity, resource access, and education. Please feel free to reach out about any matters related to my platforms, or the Engineering/STEM community.
