Introduction
STUDENT ADVOCATE
Antonio Cáceres
Increasing Basic Needs Security, Formal Student Bereavement Policy, Defending Free Speech
Gabe looks dashing wearing a black suit and red tie. He's standing in front of bright green foliage, and we can make out the faintest outline of a modern building in the background.

About

The Student Advocate offers representation and advice to any student or group involved in a dispute with the University.

Antonio is a fourth-year student studying History with a minor in Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley. He has been a part of the ASUC Student Advocate’s Office for three years as a Conduct Caseworker and has advised dozens of students who have been accused of misconduct by the University. He has previously worked to expand the reach of SAO’s services on campus and pass a formal student bereavement policy. As Student Advocate, he hopes to support the implementation of the Grief Absence Policy for Students, increase basic needs security on campus with a specific focus on student parents, and defend the right to free speech for all students. You can always contact Antonio and SAO for free, one-on-one, confidential casework at help@sao.asuc.org!
