Nick Araujo is a third-year student majoring in Social Welfare and Legal Studies with a minor in Education. As a student, Nick has been involved with various community-serving organizations such as the Latinx Theme House: Casa Magdalena Mora and the student-driven Raíces Recruitment and Retention Center, as well as multiple administrative spaces, such as the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Office of UC Student Regent, and Student Advisory Board of the VC of Student Affairs. As the Latinx-community endorsed independent Senator, he intends to use the privileges of his senate seat to advocate for the multiple underrepresented communities on campus.  Additionally, through community engagement and oversight, Senator Araujo hopes to uplift the narratives of the Latinx community and challenge university leadership to institutionalize multidimensional support towards underrepresented students on this campus, specifically through police and campus safety reform, effective community and alumni engagement, and equity assurance initiatives for brown students on this campus.
