SENATOR JUNIPERANGELICA CORDOVA

Hi! My name is Juniperangelica or Gia (used interchangeably) Cordova and I am a fourth-year transfer student from Azusa, Ca. As a senator within the ASUC, my worked is rooted in the basic needs of students, from housing and food security to health wellness and community safety. As a brown, queer, trans, femme, who experienced homelessness for about 6 years throughout high school and a child of substance abusers, my office will center the experiences UC Berkeley often times avoids discussing when promoting the concept of “adversity through struggle.” If I accomplish anything in my time as senator, I will ensure that our students understand that this university was not built for marginalized people, but we’ve earned our spot on this campus and I will do all I can to support their survival, wellness and eventual success.
