Giancarlo Fernandez is the only first-year junior transfer student ever to become appointed as the Executive Vice President, as well as the only transfer to hold two consecutive terms. He grew up in Torrance, California, and was the Student Body President of El Camino College. As a first-generation college student he knows the impact a sense of belonging plays in the lives of students. He spearheaded the establishment of a Social Justice Center and the acquisition of software that enhanced student engagement by centralizing opportunities towards leadership development. Giancarlo is passionate about working on initiatives that uplift underserved student populations. In his second term as EVP, Giancarlo looks to continue creating more opportunities for underrepresented students within his office to further build equity throughout the association.  In his free time, he enjoys dining at new restaurants and playing soccer, video games, and chess.
