Sydney Scott

The CPO develops and implements ASUC-wide strategies to recruit, retain, and empower all ASUC personnel in order to maximize their engagement, fulfillment, potential, and service to the student body.

Entering her fourth year studying Political Science and Educational Sciences with minors in Public Policy and History, Sydney is committed to fostering an ASUC community that is organized, accountable, and equipped to serve students effectively.

As Chief Personnel Officer, Sydney oversees the people and systems within the ASUC, supporting more than 1,500 student volunteers, officials, and staff across the Association. Her office leads recruitment, onboarding, retention, leadership development, human resources, and personnel accountability, ensuring every student who steps into their role in the ASUC has the resources, guidance, and institutional support to succeed.

Sydney’s leadership is shaped by her immense previous experience in the ASUC and campus life, where she’s seen up close how much strong institutions depend on clear expectations and passionate people. As CPO, she focuses on strengthening association-wide personnel systems, expanding access to appointed leadership opportunities, improving onboarding and professional development, maintaining public records and accountability mechanisms, and ensuring ASUC policies and legislation are implemented fairly and consistently.

When she’s not working on her ASUC projects, you can find Sydney in the front row of the student section at Cal football games, eating a California burrito at La Burrita, on the Pi Beta Phi balcony, or in the Environmental Design Library (Wurster) with some garlic fries!
