The AAVP leads student advocacy on issues of academic policy and campus affairs.

James Weichert is a fourth-year student studying Computer Science and Data Science with a minor in Public Policy. James was previously chief of staff to AAVP Nicole Anyanwu and is excited to continue working on academic advocacy on behalf of students across campus during his second term. His main priorities include securing equitable academic policies and accommodations, reimagining what Berkley academics look like in a post-pandemic world, and securing funding for critical student resources through the campus budget and student fees. Outside of the ASUC, James is a GSI for Data 8 and enjoys cooking and reading during his free time.
