Welcome to the ASUC Office of Academic Affairs. The Office of Academic Affairs is the primary advocacy arm of the UC Berkeley undergraduate student body for issues related to academic and campus affairs. Some examples of past initiatives the office has pioneered are: minors on diplomas, major p/np during the 2022 UAW GSI strike, and standardized alumni emails. This semester, we are hiring for four different departments: Policy, College Advocacy, Communications, and Events and Programs.

The Academic Affairs Vice President (AAVP) leads student advocacy on issues of academic policy and campus affairs.
Jennifer Tran is a fourth-year student studying Education Sciences and Political Science with a minor in Public Policy. She has been a member of the Office of Academic Affairs since her freshman year. The AAVP leads the Office of Academic Affairs’ four internal departments: Policy, College Advocacy, Communications, and Events and Programs. Furthermore, the AAVP appoints all student seats within the Berkeley Academic Senate and within other campus committees. The Office of Academic Affairs represents students in conversations with faculty and administration and encourages student participation throughout all levels of university administration. Jennifer’s office is currently focusing on creating college-level student governments throughout the university, increasing transparency and accountability for the use of student fees, and ensuring vital academic accommodations for students.
