Position title
Sexual Violence Commission

Thank you for your interest in being a part of the ASUC Sexual Violence Commission. This is an application to join the SVC as a general member, also known as a “Community Member At-Large,” as defined in ASUCBL 3302. This Commission exists within the ASUC as an independent, nonpartisan coalition seeking to transform sexual assault policies and resources on campus.

Responses to this application are due by February 5th at 11:59 PM. We are accepting applications on a rolling basis with no pre-set maximum number of acceptances, so you may receive an email from us before the deadline has formally passed (we do not want to keep you waiting!). This deadline is subject to extension if the Commission does not have at least 9 “Community Members At-Large,” as per ASUCBL 3302§2 by the close of the application period.

You do not need to have experience working on sexual violence and harassment, only a willingness to learn and a sense of commitment! We will teach you anything you need to know.

– To attend weekly meetings on Thursdays from 7:00-8:30 pm in room 540 of Eshleman Hall.
– To serve for the remainder of the 2019-20 term.
– To actively support the SVC’s mission as established in ASUCBL 3302§1.2.
– 1.5 hours of outside work per week.

ASUCBL 3302§1.2: “The Sexual Violence Commission is charged with holding the university accountable for transforming university sexual assault policies and resources; improving, expanding, and publicizing services and resources for survivors; improving educational awareness and consciousness raising among students; and otherwise fostering a culture of consent on our campus and in the community to ensure student safety and to create a more inclusive campus climate.”
