Office of Senator Dones: Communications Director
Description

The Communications Department will be in charge of all our Office’s online platforms including our website, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. This team will also be responsible for creating media including graphics and video and will serve as liaison to the press including the Daily Californian. The website will need to be updated often with our monthly newsletters, office updates, and events in our campus community. All social media platforms will be active throughout the academic year.

 

Qualifications

Experience managing a team, public speaking background (examples: Speech&Debate, MockTrial, ModelUN, leading a group project, whatever is applicable…), strong organizational & time management skills, ability to multitask, experience with social media platforms, general interpersonal skills, etc.

 

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate all of the Office’s goals/projects/etc. via meetings with other organizations when need be
  • Oversee the Communications Department and make sure everyone is on task
  • Work in collaboration with Social Media Coordinator for planning out posts for our social media
  • Remain up to date with things happening on campus and generally around us in order to come up with ideas for future social media projects, interviews, meetings, etc.
  • Leading Director meetings and Department meetings

 

Commitment

  • < 10 hours/week
  • Required to attend all weekly staff meetings and department breakout sessions
