Position title
Office of ASUC Senator Oloye
Description

Hello, beautiful Cal Bears!
We are delighted of your interest in the 2019-2020 Office of Senator Oloye.
We are excited that you are interested in participating in student government and hope that we can utilize your talent in the office next year!

Senator Oloye was elected to represent the Black/Afrikan community and STEM community here at UC Berkeley. By acknowledging her own history, the history of this university, and the history of this nation, Omotara and this office will aim to support this community and many others that are left to suffer in the margins by working on issues relating to Academic Opportunities and Professional Development, Spaces and Transportation, and Community Development so that UC Berkeley students feel supported, stress-free and heard. The office will be organized into four core departments with department heads, directors and associates, and interns respectively for each. We intend to foster an office environment that encourages community and collaboration between departments and throughout the office as a whole.

All current and incoming UC Berkeley students — regardless of age, ability, income, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, race/ethnicity, religion, and immigration status — are encouraged to apply. Learn more about the office’s structure and available positions, and view our office’s organizational chart at tinyurl.com/senatoroloyeorgchart19-20 or our office role descriptions at https://tinyurl.com/senatoroloyepositions.

The deadline for continuing UC Berkeley students is Monday, August 26th at 11:59 p.m. The deadline for incoming freshmen and transfer/re-entry students is Monday, September 2nd at 11:59 p.m. We will contact you for interviews and next steps after these respective deadlines.

If you have any questions about the application — or about the office in general — please contact Head-of-Staff Ahmad Mahmuod at ahmadmahmoud32@berkeley.edu.

We look forward to reading your application!

In Solidarity,

Omotara Oloye & Ahmad Mahmuod
