- Student Orgs
Thank you for your interest in working in the Office of ASUC Senator Michael Savides. We are excited to change the campus for the better this year, and you will play a major role in that process. If you are passionate about the topics of student health and/or Greek life community development, then this is the place for you!
Working in the ASUC is a great way to develop policy and advocacy skills, and get a taste of what it is like to represent different communities on campus. Time commitments can really be as much or as little as you would like, ranging from 1-2 hours a week to 10+. No experience necessary! Here's a little bit of what we hope to get done this year:
–Increase the accessibility and safety of the Greek community by using SVSH resources to help change house culture and provide additional pre-rush programming, developing and increasing funding for need-based dues scholarships, and adding more blue light emergency systems to the surrounding areas of campus.
–Improve student health resources by working to decrease wait times for Tang Center* appointments, adding mental health programming to residence halls, and reforming the gyms of residence halls to ensure access to adequate equipment for all students.
–Expand the accountability and transparency of the ASUC* by implementing an “online suggestion box” and increasing the number and availability of financial workshops held by the ASUC Senate Finance Committee* specifically for Registered Student Organizations (RSOs).
After submitting this form, you will be contacted within a week about a brief interview. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and we ask that you do not apply to more than 3 ASUC Offices. We are excited to welcome you to the team!
