ATTN: Those interested in a position within the Legal Office should browse through our governing documents to get a sense of the scope of the ASUC and the work that we do:
The Chief Legal Office is primarily responsible for maintaining the ASUC's nonprofit status, managing contracts with on- and off-campus entities, and aiding the Senate and other Appointed or Executive Officers in drafting legislation related to the ASUC's internal governance. Please see ASUC Bylaw 1403 for more details:
The Legal Office staff will consist of Senior Associates, Associates, and Interns. Each person will specialize in a portion of the ASUC Bylaws (i.e. 1000s, 2000s, 3000s, 4000s), and will be working on projects throughout the semester. Applications will be reviewed in waves and staffing will occur on a rolling basis. We highly encourage folks to apply earlier than later!

NOTE: Applicants may only apply up to 3 offices in the ASUC. Applicants should also take into consideration that while they may work in multiple units of the ASUC, they cannot work within both a partisan and non-partisan office. Nonpartisan offices include: offices of Appointed Officers (ASUCBL 1401§3.12), Elections Council (ASUCBL 4101§2.10), and Judicial Council.
