The Office of the Academic Affairs Vice President strives to enhance Berkeley's academic tradition by providing students opportunities to actively shape and contribute to their own educational experience, as well as advocate on academic policy. Through student services, academic programs, and student representatives to the University, students are able to cultivate a campus environment that strives for increased opportunities, awareness, and engagement in our educational experience. The AAVP office provides both services and programs run and facilitated by students, for students. In addition, the office represents students' needs on all academic matters to the University, enhancing our education with the student perspective. UC Berkeley maintains a strong reputation of promoting an innovative and community based education. The AAVP office is part of this tradition by ensuring that student interests and students voice are heard in shaping our academic and educational experience here at Cal.

Campaign Promises: Current academic policies do not prioritize students or their well being. Students need to have a voice in the process. As your AAVP I will commit to advocate and challenge the University on Academic Policies -- like the Early Drop Class List which has not been updated in two years -- by working with the Student Advisory Councils. In addition I will increase the number of students on these committees, assuring a stronger and recognized student voice. My vision, address the essential role and underutilized potential of AAVP, to be a strong and unwavering advocate and voice for students in academic policy.
