The Berkeley Student Foundation presents the Jenny Franchot and Albert Johnson Scholarship

The Berkeley Student Foundation (BSF) is a California non-profit public benefit scholarship formed by a group of UC Berkeley's Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC).

The BSF awards scholarships to students who are members of underrepresented minority groups in order to encourage diversity on the Berkeley campus. Underrepresented minority groups include Native American, African-American, Chicano/Latino, Pacific Islander/Filipino, Southeast Asian, and Multi-ethnic (these are the minority groups identified by the University as being historically underrepresented in the student body).

Any individual wishing to attend the University of California, Berkeley, and who is a member of one of the above groups, is eligible to apply for a scholarship award. The scholarships are $1,000 for each year of attendance at the University.

For more information, feel free to contact the Foundation c/o Mark Himelstein at mh@himellaw.com or visit http://www.asuc.org/newsite/scholarships/.

The deadline to apply is May 1, 2010 (for the Class of 2014).
