Berkeley Student Foundation
- Jenny Franchot and Albert Johnson Scholarship
Deadline: November 30, 2009 (for Class 2013 freshman), May 1, 2010 (for Class 2014 entering students)

The Berkeley Student Foundation is a California non-profit public benefit corporation. The organization was formed by students who attend the University of California at Berkeley and who are members of the student government on the campus known as the Associated Students of the University of California. The organization was formed in March 1999. It achieved 501c(3) status on July 15, 1999.
The Board of Directors of the organization is made up of nine students. Three of the eight members are the elected Student Body President and the elected Executive and Academic Affairs Vice Presidents. The other six board members are also students at the University who are members of the ASUC Senate. Each of the board members serves for the year of their election to student government on the Berkeley campus.
The Berkeley Student Foundation awards scholarships to students who are members of underrepresented minority groups in order to encourage diversity on the Berkeley campus. Underrepresented minority groups include Native American, African-American, Chican@/Latin@, Pacific Islander/Filipino, Southeast Asian, and Multi-ethnic (at least one parent must be a member of one of the aforementioned groups), the minority groups identified by the University as being historically underrepresented in the student body. Since 1999, BSF has awarded up to 63 students the scholarship; currently there are 31 students on campus who are recipients and there are about 13 new recipients each year.

- Amount & Restriction
A. $1000 per year per individual up to 4 years ($4000 total);
   $3500 total for those applying during their freshman year
   $1500 total for those applying during 1st year of their transfer
B. Amount will be deposited in University Financial Aid Office which can be applied to CARS bill
- Eligibility Requirements
A. Must belong to one of the following under-represented ethnic categories (according to standards set by the University of California):
African American
Native American
Chican@/Latin@
Southeast Asian
Pacific Islander/Filipino
Multi-ethnic (at least one parent must be a member of one of the aforementioned groups)
B. Must be incoming student, freshman, or 1st year transfer

Outstanding Student Recognition Program
Deadline: April 2010

No education is complete without experiences outside the classroom. To commemorate the exemplary students at UC Berkeley who have demonstrated excellence in their involvement, the Outstanding Student Recognition Program is awarded to the highest achieving of UC Berkeley's student leaders.

- Amount & Restrictions
A. $500 per individual
B. $250 of award is for personal use; $250 of award must go to a student group or benefit the campus in some way
C. Individual can only receive this award once during their education at UC Berkeley
- Eligibility Requirements
A. Registered UC Berkeley student
- Selection Criteria
A. Academic Achievement (20%)
B. Enthusiasm (10%)
C. Inspires other students (20%)
D. Willingness to contribute $250 of the award (10%)
E. Community service, leadership, and personal history (40%)

Removing Impediments to Students/Education (RISE) Scholarship
Deadline: Rolling

The ASUC is committed to actively supporting access to public education for all people. The ASUC Removing Impediments to Students' Education (RISE) scholarship program provides scholarships to UC Berkeley students who have lost their federal financial aid eligibility.

- Amount & Restrictions
A. $400 per individual
B. Award used only toward University tuition or fees, housing costs, textbooks, or materials purchased at the ASUC Student Store
C. Individual can only receive this award once during their education at UC Berkeley
- Eligibility Requirements
A. UC Berkeley student in good standing
B. Declared ineligible due to the Aid Elimination Provision on the FAFSA by the University Financial Aid Office
C. Student maintains UC GPA of 2.5 or above
- Selection Criteria
A. Academic achievement (50%)
B. Community service, leadership, and personal history which can include financial need (50%)
