I want to start a new student group.
New student groups need to be registered with Campus Life and Leadership, part of the Department of Student Affairs. More details can be found on their website.
I want my student group to become ASUC-sponsored.
Information about sponsorship can be found on our Funding & Sponsorship webpage, or on the website of the ASUC Auxiliary. Benefits include funding opportunities, access to an ASUC Auxiliary advisor, budgeting and reimbursement assistance, free room reservations and equipment rentals, and student group office space / storage space.
I want to contact my ASUC Advisor.
To contact the ASUC Auxiliary advisors, please visit the ASUC Auxiliary Contact webpage. In addition, you may make an appointment or drop by the 4th floor of Eshleman Hall to speak to your advisor from 9:00 pm - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday.
I want to write an ASUC Senate Bill to support my event.
To write a Senate Bill, please contact one of the 2010-11 ASUC Senators. Their contact information is listed on the Senate webpage. Once your bill has passed, you may apply for a reimbursement. More information on how to claim your reimbursement is located on the Senate Bill Process webpage.
I want to host my event at Pauley Ballroom.
To reserve Pauley Ballroom in the MLK Student Union, please email ASUC Event Services at reservations@berkeley.edu or drop by their office in 100 MLK. After you have printed out an event confirmation, please fill out a Facility Use waiver to request to waive a portion of the rental fees. You are expected to present at the FiComm Meeting that following Monday, at 9 p.m. in Senate Chambers or your waiver will be tabled.
I want to hold a meeting in Senate Chamber/Senate Lounge.
Senate Chamber/Lounge is free and available only to ASUC-sponsored student groups. To request the venue, please print out the reservations webpage and submit to the Secretariat, who are located on the 2nd floor of Eshleman Hall. They will email you a confirmation of your booking. We recommend booking the room at least 3 weeks prior to your event.
I want to rent ASUC equipment.
The ASUC Secretariat offers free equipment rentals to ASUC-sponsored student groups with a refundable $50-100 security deposit. Please visit the equipment rentals webpage for more details. In addition, ASUC Event Services also rents out equipment, but there may be a rental fee assessed. To contact Event Services, please email reservations@berkeley.edu or drop by 100 MLK.
I am interested in applying for an ASUC Grant.
The Grants Department within the Academic Affairs Office handles the distribution of ASUC Grants. To find out more information, please visit the Grants webpage.
I need keys to my student group office in Eshleman.
Fill out the Eshleman Access Request form on the ASUC forms webpage to request card access and student group office keys.
I want to have confidential legal representation.
The Student Advocate is the campus public defender and offers help to students in a dispute with the University. To find out more information regarding the Student Advocate, please visit the SAO website. In addition, you may drop by their office on the 2nd floor of Eshleman Hall, Room 204.
The Student Legal Clinic educates the Berkeley community about their legal options. You may visit their website or drop by the 3rd floor of Eshleman Hall, Room 300A.

The ASUC Auxiliary frequently hires lecture notetakes, editors, Art Studio assistants, Library play staff, administrative assistants, along with other job opportunities for students. I want to know when the Eshleman Library is open.
Eshleman Library is a 24-hour library located on the 7th floor of Eshleman Hall where students can study. It is one of the few libraries which allows food and drinks. For library hours, please visit the ASUC Auxiliary's Eshleman Library webpage.
