Resources for Student Organizations
Tools
- ASUC Logo Kit If you are putting on an ASUC sponsored event (includes events put on by organizations that receive ASUC funding), you must include the ASUC logo on the event flyer and publicity materials. You must also abide by the Disability Accesiblity Rules.
- Open Computing Facility (OCF): OCF provides free webhosting for organizations.
- BerkeleyLive: A student-initiated forum where you can find many discussions pertaining to event logistics, student organizational resources, and general advice on academics and student life.
Organizations
- Campus Life & Leadership (CLL): Your organization must be registered with CLL to be an official organization on campus; the process includes registering at least 4 students as "Signatories" and filing a Constitution. CLL also offers many useful resources: advising for student groups & Greek organizations, leadership development tools, team building activities, fundraising suggestions, publicity tools, official forms, and event planning advice.
- Multicultural Student Development (MSD): MSD develops programs that engages students in multicultural work, dialogue, and experience. MSD also administers and books the Multicultural Center (formally known as Heller Lounge in MLK Union).
- Gender Equity Resource Center (GenEq): GenEq is committed to providing programs, services and resource information about gender, sexual orientation, sex and gender identity, sexual & relationship violence and bias-related incidents. GenEq is a space for those interested in forming a community that welcomes difference, and for those interested in exploring issues of social justice. GenEq offers free workshops on gender, sexuality and violence to UC Berkeley organizations.
- Cal Corps Public Service Center is the campus' hub for public service programs (eg. Bonner Leaders, BUILD Tutoring, Cal in the Capitol, etc). The Center also supports student organizations financially and through advisers as "Community Projects". Student groups can apply to be a Community Project annually in the Spring.
- Residence Hall Assembly (RHA) is the Residence Hall's student government with the mandate of "improving the quality of life in the residential community"; representing 6000 students, RHA provides funding for programs that improve the quality of life in residence halls. Your organization may receive sponsorship from RHA if it fits their funding criteria.
- Recreational Sports administers all recreational facilities at UC Berkeley. Your organization may use the RSF for events; they can be contacted to provide the venue.
- Facilities Reservations: this list provides all campus venues (eg. Classrooms, CalPerformances, Lipman Room, etc) and their respective management that can be contacted to reserve the venues.
- Resource Handbook: This is UC Berkeley's official resource handbook detailing the departments at Berkeley and academic/student services available.
