Greetings Cal Community,
Thank you for visiting the ASUC website! As your ASUC President, I am so excited for the potential of our student government to grow and engage with our community this year. As the largest and most autonomous student government in the nation, our ASUC has an incomparable capacity to achieve groundbreaking campus change. The success of your elected officials and their respective offices is contingent on your engagement in student life. I encourage you to browse this webpage and find your ideal area to get involved; I can assure you that there is a place for you in the ASUC to cultivate your passions and interests, no matter what they are.
This year, your ASUC Executives envision an ASUC committed to the values of transparency, empowerment, social justice, innovation, and collaboration. Together, we will be working on an array of issues regarding mental health, textbook affordability, campus safety, environmental justice planning, Berkeley city redevelopment, global volunteerism, diversity and admissions, and statewide coalition building for our higher education systems. At the #1 public university in the world, your ASUC has a vision not just for Cal, but for the greater higher education community at large.
As a Cal student, now is a pivotal and exciting time in our campus community to stay engaged as we welcome a new Chancellor and the construction of a new student union on Lower Sproul. The ASUC has many resources to help you navigate this transitional period of our student life so feel free to contact any of your elected officials if you have any questions, comments, or concerns--we’d be happy to help. GO BEARS!
With great respect,
DeeJay Pepito
ASUC President
